Know Your Rights – Protect Your Safety

Life can change in an instant and I want to ensure that you have the best chance of success by being prepared. The laws are constantly changing and I spend my time studying these changes to ensure that my clients have the best possible chance when dealing with Life-Changing Situations.

- You have the right to remain silent – use it no one can take that away from you!
- You have the right to speak to an attorney in private
- You have the right to be told you are being arrested
- You have the right to be told you are being “detained”
- You have the right to be free from unreasonable searches and/or seizures
- You have the right to be told the charges against you
- You have the right to reasonable bail unless you are charged with a capital offense
- You have the right to be seen by a magistrate within 48 hours of your arrest, or within a reasonable time
- You have a right to call the person of your choice and tell them you have been arrested
- You have the right to be treated like a human being, regardless of the charges against you.
